This volume brings together poets from Scandinavia whose voices have not been widely heard in English translation. Denmark: Inger Christensen, Denmark's most celebrated contemporary poet, Lene Henningsen, and Willum Peder Trellund. Sweden: Katarina Frostenson, Birgitta Lillpers, and Birgitta Trotzig, translated into English for the first time. Iceland: Einar Mar Gudmundsson, and Didda, who has collaborated with her musician/friends Bjork and Magga Stina. Norway: Stein Mehren.
