Biodiversity of Woodlands
Biodiversity
Greg Pyers
Biodiversity celebrates Earth's amazing variety of animals and plants. Each book focuses on the biodiversity of a specific ecosystem and explains why certain animal and plant species thrive there. Threats to the ecosystem are also discussed, as are the conservation measures being taken to protect the biodiversity of the region. Students will learn that species are becoming extinct at an alarming rate, why this is happening, and what they can do to help slow it down and preserve Earth's biodiversity. This series coincides with the United Nations'celebration of 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity.
