This is book #26 in "The Cat Who..." series by Lillian Jackson Braun. In this book, Pickax is having a grand opening of the new book store after the old one was burned down. Also, Polly Duncan resigns from the library. A body is discovered on Qwills property killed execution-style. Koko, Yum Yum, and Qwill are on the trail of another murder. This book seems to follow some of Mrs Brauns earlier books and I enjoyed it. These books are easy-to-read light mysteries that are appropriate for most ages.
