Alberto is an old man - but he has no idea how old because he can't remember anything before he arrived at an orphanage during the Spanish civil war. It's never bothered him that he doesn't know the date of his birth, but when his young grandson discovers his Apu has never had a birthday party, never blown out candles on a birthday cake, or been given a single birthday card or present, he's determined that should change. And so the two set off on a journey to find Alberto's past...
