Gale Merryweather is unlucky. Even her name spells trouble. G-a-l-e (like a violent winter storm), and she feels helpless because of her misfortunes. Until one day, the ride operator of the carousel at the park in Providence, Rhode Island, gives Gale the answer to all her problems. All she has to do is catch the gold ring.
