The mystery novel 'Strong Poison' of 'Dorothy Leigh Sayers' was first published in 1930; before her novel 'The unpleasantness At the Bellona Club' and after 'Five Red Herrings'. 'Strong Poison' is one of the most popular novels of 'Lord Peter Wimsey' series. Harriet Vane, a police fiction writer, is on trial for murder of her former lover, Philip Boyes, who was a novelist and essayist. Philip Boyes wrote in support of atheism, anarchy, and free love. He disapproved marriage and persuaded Harriet Vane to live a bohemian life with him without marriage. He proposed after a year, but Harriet got outraged, accused him for destroying her reputation and broke off the relationship. Later, after taking his dinner with his cousin, Philip Boyes went to her flat for reconciliation and Harriet offered him a cup of coffee before he left her flat. In that very night he fell ill and died after four days. His post-mortem examination showed that he was killed by poisoning with Arsenic. Harriet Vane is accused for his murder and all clues point at her as guilty of his murder. Lord Peter Wimsey, who helps to prove her innocence, wants to marry Harriet Vane..........
