Adjacent to each portrait is an example of the artist's pottery, along with a statement by the artist. The pottery shown exemplifies the incredible range of styles and designs that have evolved over the past century. Through his portraits, the author/photographer, Neil Chapman, provides a glimpse into the lives of a quiet people's dignity and pride--pride in their craftsmanship and pride in their traditions.
