Because many psychologists have allowed personal conflicts with religion to color their work, many Christians have concluded that psychology is inherently hostile to all religion. The editor of Psychology and Religion, however, sees it differently. "Too often suspicion and distrust block Christians from learning from psychology," he writes. "This book should make clear both the profitability of a critical Christian evaulation of psychology and the significant contributions psychology can make to Christianity.
