A chance encounter with Colonel Rejas provides the key to a story that Latin America correspondent John Dyer, has been following for 12 years, a story which details the progress of a manhunt alive with terror and longing. Colonel Rejas was the policeman charged with the task of capturing the Peruvian guerilla leader Ezequiel, but having been dismissed he found the burden of silence and secrecy too heavy.
