Charles Hewes Moore, Jr is a former American athlete, and has served as executive director of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy since the organization's founding in 1999. Charles won a gold medal in the 400 metre hurdles in the 1952 Summer Olympics with a time of 50.8 seconds, narrowly missing the world record. He also ran a third leg on the second-place 4x400 metre relay. Charles finished second for the James E. Sullivan Award in 1952, and was selected as one of "100 Golden Olympians" in 1996. In 1999, he was inducted into the United States National Track and Field Hall of Fame.
