Momma's Purle is a story about an African American woman named Sarah James who was faced with the struggle of raising five girls in Harlem in the late 1970's. Sarah was faced with this struggle without the financial or emotional support of her husband who decided to take off with another womwn when the children were small. Sarah had supportive mother in law that was there to fill in the blanks when the call to duty arose.
