Up Close with Lee Kuan Yew gathers together some of the vivid memories of 28 people who had worked or interacted closely with Lee Kuan Yew in some way or other, from when he was at university in Cambridge right up to his demise in 2015. Among these are his Principal Private Secretaries, who lived and breathed Mr Lee for a few years each. The others include former President SR Nathan and business associates such as Liew Mun Leong, Wee Cho Yaw, Robert Kuok, Philip Yeo and Li Ka Shing. This book captures with surprising candidness what it was like to work with the utterly serious and no nonsense Mr Lee.
